One of those days

Have you ever had one of those days where you just feel broken inside? The feeling like the smallest little thing is going to start you off and every moment is a struggle to hide what you are feeling?

For me, today was one of those days.  I went through the day feeling a little broken and with some unspoken burden on my heart.  At first, I couldn’t put my finger on it, but then as the day went on, I realized it had been over a week since I’d heard from my fiance.  We’re doing the long distance thing, and though I am a lot closer than I used to be (I lived in Southern Oregon for nearly 15 years and am now in the upper mid west) there are times I feel further apart.  Continue reading

Day 17: Love

Love is something that many of us are lucky enough to experience in our lives.  Whether it be the love of a family member, friend or significant other, love is all over the place.  We give it as well as receive it.  Love is an amazing thing that can cause a huge range of emotions.  From pain and anger to happiness and euphoria.

But sometimes, we fail to share the love we feel with those we feel it for.  Rather than using every day gestures, actions and small tokens of affection show our love, we look for holidays and occasions to show it.  Romance shouldn’t need a date on a calendar to be experienced and it is sad that so many look towards Valentines day as a way to find romance.
