I felt a little green witchy this weekend as I started some seeds for my balcony garden this summer.  Living in Minnesota presents a unique challenge that I am going to have to get used to.  After living in the Pacific Northwest for 15 years and being accustomed to mild seasons, Minnesota has been a wonderful change for me.  I LOVE the winters here, and even after driving in my first winter, I think I was meant to live where it snows.  Continue reading

Comfort in the Rain

Its been raining all day today and its made me long for the pacific northwest and “home”.  There is something about the smell of the air when it rains there that is entrancing for me. The smell of the moist earth coupled with the scent of the evergreens brought out something primal in me.

Here in Minnesota, I am at awe with the vastness of the land.  Always being around mountains, the flat plains of the Midwest are a new experience for me that has taken some getting used too.  When the rain falls here, the new scents that I experience make me wistful for Oregon but also excited at the new ways I get to experience nature and the beauty of the world around me.  Continue reading
