Day 10: School

So I completely failed at NaBloPoMo this month.  I didn’t post anything Friday, Saturday or Sunday for it.  There is always next month.

I was just overwhelmed this weekend with lots to do including a quiz for school.  I am in a history class right now and the stuff we are learning is stuff I learned my freshman year of highschool… this means its a huge snooze fest and I just can’t get into it.  It is already material I know and it isn’t a challenge at all.  At least my next class, which is a math class, will be challenging – even if it is going to be just a class that surveys our math levels to make sure my skills are suited for the accounting degree program I am in.

Got my nail polishes somewhat organized tonight.  I still have more organization to do but at least I got a start on it.  In case your wondering, my collection of polish is now up to about 245 if you count treatments, top coats, nail art polishes and my gel polishes I just got.  (LOVE LOVE LOVE doing gels on my nails.  SOOO much added strength and soooo much less maintenance. This collection is currently housed in 9 shoebox containers from Walmart, but would honestly fit in probably 6 or 7.  I just have some of my polish brands in their own containers because they are ones I know for sure I’d expand on and get more of.  (Like my Avon polishes.  Since I am a rep, I LOVE getting new colors from them as they come out since they are such a great price for a pretty decent polish.

My prize polishes are the 3 designer ones I’ve gotten.  I have two from Este Lauder and I LOVE them.  I also have a mini from Nars and OMG it is a gorgeous sheer golden topcoat.  Great for a minimal nail or to put over another color for added sparkle.

Don’t have much else to talk about tonight.  Was going to post about school but since it is boring me so much, it happened to turn into a blog about my passion, which is nails and makeup.  Can anyone really wonder why I became an Avon rep??!!  Here soon, as I start getting back into it, I will be sure to post some reviews and first impressions of products I order.  I have my first order for the year placed and should be getting it soon and I am super excited!

Review – Avon’s Clearskin Blackhead Eliminating Formula and Anew Rejuvinate lines!

Hi there Ladies!  As I said in my previous post, things are very busy for me right now.  Our business at work is really picking up and I am putting in a minimum of 60 hours a week at work.  Combine that with school and Avon and I am so busy I can barely thing straight.

But have no fear, another review is here. Just like many other women, I am plagued with the constant battle against blackheads in my t-zone area.  These awful things drive me crazy and I have tried so many things to get rid of them.  Part of my battle with acne as an adult is the result of a syndrome called Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome.   It causes all kinds of crazy things to go on with my hormones and as a result, my skin often suffers. I battle oil on a daily basis and find that the more oily I get (hello summer time!!) the more the icky blackheads make their appearance.

But I think I have found some hope with Avon’s Clearskin blackhead eliminating formula.  The thing with many acne fighting skin care lines is that they can really dry a person’s skin out.  When you combine cleansers, toner’s, masks and moisturizer that all have the same acne fighting ingredients, you can really set your skin up for some major aggravation.   I have found that the best way to go about using this product is to slowly ease into it.  I use the cleanser once a day, in the morning during my shower.  I feel that it sets me up for the most oil fighting and it really helps to invigorate my skin.

I have been using the product line for about a month now and I am starting to see the amount of blackheads diminish.  The key to this happening is the active ingredient, salicylic acid.  This gets down deep into your pores and helps to break up all the nasty gunk in them.  Over time, as the gunk is cleaned out of them, your pores begin to look smaller because they no longer have all kinds of stuff stretching them and clogging them up.

I combine the products with the Anew Rejuvenate skin care line from Avon.  In the morning, I use the blackhead eliminating cleanser.  I spot treat any blemishes with my ever faithful Clean and Clear Advantage spot treatment and then apply the daytime moisturizer and eye creams from the Anew line.  After allowing the products to sufficiently settle into my skin, I begin my makeup routine.

After a long day at work, I remove my makeup.  I begin with the eye makeup removing lotion from Avon and follow it with the Anew Cleanser.  (Anti aging skin care begins BEFORE you start seeing the signs of aging!!) After I have cleaned my skin with my cleanser and a light exfoliation face puff, I use the Blackhead eliminating toner ONLY IN MY T ZONE.  I find I get to dry in other areas if I use it all over.  Once that has dried, I then apply the night creams from the Anew line.  About 2 times a week, I’ll use the glycollic peel to aid in the exfoliation of my face and on Sunday’s I bust out some mask action.

I am really enjoying both products.  I was using the Rejuvenate line before I began with the Clearskin line and I have definitely seen some improvement in the area’s claimed by Avon.  I am really please with both lines and really enjoy the results I am getting from the combination of both.
