Day 9: Grandparents

Grandparents are something special.  I love my grandparents a ton and though only one is still living, the others are on my mind.  My Grandma Liz was my dad’s mom and she was a battleaxe of a woman.  She was a strict woman who you didn’t mess with.  When told to do something, we never did argued.  She was a strong woman and had a special way of making you feal loved.

Gramma and Grampa are the grandparents I was closest too.  They are the ones we saw more often when I was a kid, since we lived with them for a little bit.  When we moved to Oregon, we lived in their house for a while during which time they traveled around the country in a motor home.  Grampa passed 5 years after dad did, almost to the day.  But before that, he was one of those people who would face off those wanting to do you harm with no qualms.

He was great.

Gramma is amazing.  She is still alive and kicking.  I admire her strength after she lost the love of her life after more than 50 years of marriage.  She never lacks love for her grand kids and always makes sure they know it.

Day 8: Shucks

Unfortunately, there are moments where things happen that are somewhat beyond your control and you just have to go with the flow, regardless of what it does to the plans you have.  One such example is my plans to post a daily blog.  As you can see, I missed not only Friday but yesterday as well.  But when my computer decided to be a retard I had to focus on getting it to behave again by way of reformatting it.  Then I went to go use my laptop and BAM had to do the same thing to it.  Don’t know what the issue was but reformatting it seemed to help.  I tried to blog from my phone but that was way beyond the level my patience was at.

This weekend has been busy.  I got my taxes back and have been spending my time getting things I needed and honestly, some things I didn’t.  Had a lot of fun hanging with my sister and LOVE LOVE LOVE the haircut and color my stylist gave me on Saturday.

Talked to my other sister this weekend too along with my nephew.  Love the kiddo so much and I miss everyone like crazy.  As each day goes by, Minnesota is becoming more like home and Oregon is becoming more of a memory.  It will always be my “hometown” since that is were I lived so many years of my life but I love it here in the midwest.

I’ll get back on track with NaBloPoMo tomorrow hopefully.

I need to go take a quiz now for school so I’ll catch you on the flip side.
